EL for IL
On May 23, 2005, a group of 20 environmental leaders from across the state met at Sugar Grove Nature Center in McLean, IL to revise the state strategic plan EL for IL. Originally written in 1995, this was the plan's second revision and updating. Input was received from the State Board of Education, the Department of Natural Resources, the Illinois EPA, the two state EE associations (EEAI and IEEAC), park and forest preserve districts, educators, and over 170 residents. It is hoped that ALL citizens will read the document and find a way to help implement it within their sphere of influence. Its goal is to have an enviornmentally literate Illinois citizenry able to make informed decisions about the environment and our place in it.

The next big project will be decided at the December 9th meeting.
